A Study in Pink 粉红色研究 [2022- ]

What is pink‘s entity? What kind of existence is it as an object? Is it a CMYK or RGB numbers? Is it the color produced by the mixture of several formulations of pigments? Is it a certain spectrum of light? Or is it the social hallucination we construct? Under the influence of history, society and media, how can we establish new cultural symbols around this color?

Pink has not always been regarded as the representative of femininity, childishness or loveliness. Historically, it was also regarded as a symbol of masculinity, handsomeness and wisdom, but in contemporary society it has been confined to the category related to women. Artists have made a series of observations, reverie and re-examination of the pink objects and scenes in her private life.

粉红色的实体为何? 作为对象是什么样的存在? 是一串CMYK或是RGB数字? 是几个配方的色料的混合产生的颜料? 是光反射的一定波段? 抑或是我们建构的社会性 幻觉? 在历史、社会和传媒的影响下我们如何建立起围绕该色彩的新型文化符号或消费风格策略?

粉红色并不是一直都被认为是女性、稚嫩、可爱的代表,历史上它也一度被认为是男性气概、帅气、智慧的象征,而在当代社会被局限在了女性相关的范畴内。艺术家对生活中的粉色物件、场景进行了一系列的观察、 遐想和重新审视。
